What is the cause of hair loss/Female hair loss solutions

Hair loss is difficult for anyone to experience, but it’s espically hard for women. Gradually, you lose more and more hair and don’t feel like the person you once knew. For women, hair is our crowning glory, our defining feature. However, there are solutions to combat this unfortuante problem many women face.

Female hair loss solutions

What causes hair loss and is there anything you can do to reverse or avoid it?

According to the Cotswold Trichology Centre in England, about one in four women will suffer from hair loss at some point in their lives. Many hair loss cases in young women stem from lack of nutritional substances such as iron caused from child birth or poor diet. In older women, it tends to be due to hormones and genetic factors. Even women who are not genetically predisposed to hair loss will still experience a change in their hair due to ageing, where hair becomes thinner and finer with age.  While it might be frustrating and distressing, in many cases hair loss can be reversible.

If you think that it only happens due to things like hormone and dietary changes, think again.

One of the most common causes of hair loss is traction, or tension on hair strands. Wearing hair tied up for long periods of time, even tying loosely, has a detrimental effect in some cases. Hair extensions also cause traction, even the really lightweight ones if they are repeatedly applied without breaks to allow the hair to rest and recover. Basically, any hair regiWhat is the cause of hair loss/Female hair loss solutionsme that causes repeated tension to the same area, will cause a thinning in that area over a period of years due to hair being repeatedly pulled out.

Why Does Menopause Affect Hair Loss?

It’s all about hormone changes, which women can experience after puberty, pregnancy or menopause. Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is the main hormone responsible. “After menopuase, the oestrogen is no longer in the body to counter the testosterone,” said Mr Sallis. According to the Association of Dermatologists, DHT causes a change in the hair follicles on the scalp. The hairs from those follicles become smaller in diameter, shorter in length and lighter in color until the follicles stop producing hair all together.

Female hair loss solutions

In cases of nutrionalhair loss, the easy fix is to pin-point what nutrient your body is lacking. Hair loss in older women is treatable but it depends on how thin the hair has become, and of course the earlier it is treated the better. There a many ways to treat hair loss in older women, but not every option will help or is cost-effective. Topical treatments like Minoxidil can do more damage in some cases and are more of temporary treatments.

Low-level laser therapy is a form of light and heat treatment. This has been shown to stimulate hair growth in both men and women. Researchers hypothesize that the main mechanisms involved in the process is the stimulation of epidermal stem cells in the follicle and shifting the follicle back into the growth phase of the cycle.

Hair transplantation involves harvesting follicles from the back of the head that are DHT resistant and transplanting them to bald areas. A surgeon will remove minuscule plugs of skin that contain a few hairs and implant the plugs where the follicles are inactive. At the end of the procedure, the person will still have the same amount of hair, but it will just be distributed more evenly around the scalp. However, treating hair loss through surgical procedures can be painful and expensive.

Hair wigs, both human and synthetic are still the most common and practical method to dealing with hair loss.

Did You Know?

An estimated 50 million men and 30 million women in America have androgentic alopecia, commonly know as male-pattern or female-pattern baldness. With men, it usually presents as a receding hairline, while in women, it usually causes thinning of the hair. A recent study found the global market for treatments of this condition will reach $11.8 billion by the year 2024.

Searching for a cure

What is the cause of hair loss/Female hair loss solutions

Researchers continue to strive for the cure-all of hair loss cures by trying to gain a better understanding of how the hair growth cycle is controlled. Rather than treating the symptoms of hair loss, scientists aim to target the cause, which, in turn, may yield fewer side effects. Recently, there have been numerous discoveries in the hair loss arena that may lead to new promising treatments. At the University of California San Francisco researchers reported that defects in a type of immune cell called Tregs (which are usually associated with controlling inflammation) might be responsible for a multiple hair loss types. They say that Tregs may also play a role in male pattern baldness.

Researchers from the Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute in San Diego, CA, developed a technique to generate new hair using pluripotent stem cells. This method would provide an unlimited source of cells without being limited to transplanting follicles from one part of the head to another. In mouse trials researchers found that Tregs trigger stem cells in the skin, which promote healthy hair. Without partnering up with Tregs, the stem cells are unable to regenerate hair follicles, and this leads to hair loss. Tregs seem to have co-evolved, so that the Tregs not only guard the stem cells against inflammation but also take part in the regenerative work.

It should be comforting to know huge strides are being made everyday to cure baldness. Throughout laboratories across the world, research is being done to rid people of this unfortunate aesthetic issue.

A Beginners Guide: Human Hair Wigs

Post Date: June 5th, 2017

How Are Wigs Used In the 21st Century?

Wigs have been popularized in society to use from celebrities such as Cher and Tina Turner to Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. Wigs are worn by many people, sometimes daily, sometimes just situationally. Convenience is often a reason behind their use, as wigs can get styled in advance however wigs are not just for fun and conveinence. Those suffering hair loss, be it genetic pattern baldness in middle age, or someone going through chemotherapy while undergoing cancer treatment.  Whatever your reason, here is our beginners guide to the world of human hair wigs.

Human Hair Wigs

One advantage of human hair wigs is that they provide the most natural feel and look. This type of wig is very soft with movement and shine that cannot be matched with synthetic hair.

Human hair wigs are also very versatile. They can be easily cut and styled in a way that suits your desired look. Being the more expensive of the two types of wigs, human hair wigs provide more durability and realism, especially if properly cared for.

Generally, there are four kinds of human hair that are used in wigs: Chinese, Indian, Indonesian and European. Most wigs are manufactured using Asian hair. Most hair extensions also come from this same part of the world.

Human Hair Wigs

This section is made up of generalizations that are “generally” true in most cases.

Chinese hair is extremely straight due to the fact that it has thicker denier. Also, Chinese hair happens to be more resistant to curl and as a result, it’s more difficult to style.

Indonesian hair is the most abundant so, Indonesian hair is relatively inexpensive.

Indian hair has thinner denier, almost similar to European hair, although it has a little bit more texture.

European hair is known for its fine denier and often the most sought after. However, because its supply is becoming limited in the market, it is more expensive.

If your only consideration is quality, human hair is by far the superior choice. From its natural look and feel to it’s durability, humain hair is the ideal option for a wig. Another important factor that affects the quality of the hair is the processing technique.

The chemicals used during production, which are used to sanitize the hair and strip away the initial color, can cause different colors and curl patterns. Not only are these chemicals very strong, but they can also change the integrity of the hair depending on the method used.

When chemicals of higher quality are used, coupled with a more artful production process, the resultant wig is of higher quality and therefore costs more. Experts consider Remy human hair a premium option.

When crafting or manufacturing a hairpiece, hair follicles are usually made to run in the same direction.

Given that human hair cuticles normally all run in the same direction, there is a significant reduction in tangling. Be careful not to buy fake human hair, which is considerably low-priced and won’t meet most quality standards.

Caring for Human Hair Wigs

It’s very important that you only use hair care products formulated specifically for highly processed human hair. You also need to note that wearable hair doesn’t benefit from the naturally occurring oils on the scalp. You will need to condition and hydrate human hair wigs.

However, human hair also has some shortcomings of its own. For instance, it requires a lot of maintenance. Just like with natural hair, you need to put in a lot of effort to care for it.

Most women seem to prefer daily styling as it gives them more control over their appearance and also a sense of normalcy, which is derived from a daily hair styling routine.

How to Determine Your Wig Size

To determine the appropriate wig size for you, measure your head’s circumference from the front hairline, just behind your ear, along the back of your neck, to the other ear, then back again to the front hairline.

Record the measurements to use as you shop for wigs. However, you should note that sizes can vary slightly based on the wig’s brand. You should also note that some wigs are not available in all cap sizes.

While you consider and compare different wigs that interest you, take some time to think about the styles that might be flattering based on the shape of your face. Below are a few guidelines you might find helpful.

Oval: An OVAL-Shaped Face is longer rather than wide while the jaw is narrower than the cheekbones. Since an oval-shaped face doesn’t have any dominant areas and is largely proportional, the face will look good with almost any hairstyle, length as well as texture.

Round: A ROUND-Shaped Face has a wide hairline and fullness beneath the cheekbones. Some women with round faces may be obese with the neck appearing short. Round-shaped faces look pretty good with a linear or geometric style. Add height, if you can, and long, thin side areas for the cheeks to appear narrow. Then comb the hair close to the head both on the side and at the back of your neck.

Square: A SQUARED-Shaped Face has a wide hairline and jaw. Such a face needs height on top while the sides should be narrow. To add height to the face, comb the hair off your forehead. Curly texture and wisps of hair close to the face break the wide, straight lines commonly found on square faces.

Heart (or Diamond): HEART-Shaped Faces have wide foreheads and narrower chins. To hide its width, bring some hair onto your forehead. You should also keep the hair close to the head, on the area close to your eyes, but make it somewhat full around the jaw as well as beneath and at the fore of the earlobes.

Choosing the Right Hair Wigs for Women

Post Date: May 30th, 2017

Choosing the Right Hair Wigs for women

Brought to you by

A wig is a covering for the head, made of synthetic hair, human hair, or animal hair. The word “wig” is short for periwig, and it was first seen around 1675. People generally wear wigs to disguise their baldness. They may be a less expensive and intrusive substitute of medical therapies for reinstating hair.

The difference between Synthetic Hair and Human Hair

Human Hair

Human hair wigs provide natural look and feel. This wig is very soft and offers shine and movement which is not easily replicated by synthetic hair. Human hair wigs are also very versatile. Human hair can be cut and styled in different types to suit a client’s tastes. Human hair wigs are quite an expensive option, however, if properly cared for, they are one of the longer lasting hair wig options. There are typically four types of human hair wigs- European/Caucasian, Indonesian, Indian, and Chinese. Asian hair wigs are the most popular choice for wigs. Asian hair wigs tend to have thicker denier, making hair extremely straight. Asian hair wigs are resistant to curls hence they are difficult to style. Indonesian hair wigs are also found in greater supply and are less expensive which makes it a popular choice for ethnic wig styles. While Indian hair is thinner as compared to European hair, it has a better texture. A European hair wig is known as a fine denier. But because of its limited marketplace; it is an expensive option.

The hair origin is not the only factor; the processing techniques are directly based on the quality and strength of the final product. The chemicals needed to sanitize and shred away the original color to create various curl, colors, and patterns, are very strong and can influence the veracity depending on the method that is used. When the quality of the chemical is higher, then there is an artful processing. The end result is a higher quality product, and thus it costs higher. It is important that you ensure the hydration and conditioning of the hair on a regular basis.

wigsSynthetic Hair

With the advancement of technology, synthetic hair has come a really long way. In certain cases, it is quite difficult to tell the difference between human hair and synthetic hair. In fact, there are some synthetic pieces, which are so high in quality that you would not be able to tell the difference. The most attractive thing about synthetic hair is that they can be worn right out of the box without the need of any styling. However, synthetic hair often lacks the versatility. It cannot be cut or styled in different ways like you can do in human hair wigs. There is only certain heat friendly synthetic hair that can be heated to change the curl pattern of the current wigs. However, it is to be noted that, even the most heat friendly hair can be difficult to change as synthetic fibers are typically more resistant to change.

How to choose hair wigs for women?

If you have lost your hair, no matter because of whatever reason; you might be considering to buy an appropriate hair wig for yourself. While there is an array of options for human hair for women, deciding on a single one can be a bit confusing process. So to make the process easier for you, here are certain tips that will help you.
1.    Human hair wigs for women have the most bounce and swing and can also be easily washed and heat-styled just like natural hair. While they might be expensive, they last for several years.
2.    How you generally wear your hair? If you usually keep it all at the back, your human hair wigs for women should come with lace at the coronet that will give a natural-looking hairline.
3.    Do your research properly because there are a lot of options for hair wigs for hair. Make sure you choose a wig that matches the shape of your face.
4.    Once you decide on your wig, get a cut, even when you love the current style of the wig. Generally, human hair wigs for women have too much hair especially at the temple areas, which needed to be cut to fit your shape.

What are causes of hair loss?

Post Date: August 29th, 2014

  • There are many causes of scalp hair loss, and they do differ in men and women.  Studies show that losing up to 100-150 hairs per day is normal. Human hair naturally grows in three phases: anagen, catagen, and telogen. Anagen is the active or growing phase. Catagen is a fairly short phase of the natural hair cycle during which hairs begin to break down. Telogen is the resting phase. The hairs that are shed daily are often in the resting or late phase in the hair cycle. Normally, about 10% of the scalp hairs are in the resting or telogen phase at any time. These hairs are not growing and are getting prepared for cyclic shedding.

  • Most hair loss is not associated with systemic or internal disease, nor is poor diet a frequent factor. Hair may simply thin as a result of predetermined genetic factors, family history, and the overall aging process. Many men and women may notice a mild and often normal physiologic thinning of hair starting in their thirties and forties. Other times, normal life variations including temporary severe stress, nutritional changes, and hormonal changes like those in pregnancy, puberty, and menopause may cause a reversible hair loss.

  • Several health conditions, including thyroid disease and iron deficiencyanemia, can cause hair loss. While thyroid blood tests and other lab tests, including a complete blood count (CBC), on people who have ordinary hair loss are usually normal, it is important to exclude underlying causes in sudden or severe hair loss. If you are concerned about some other underlying health issues, you may start by seeing your family physician, internist, or gynecologist for basic health screening. Dermatologists are doctors who specialize in problems of skin, hair, and nails and may provide more advanced diagnosis and treatment of hair thinning and loss. Sometimes a scalp biopsy may be taken to help in diagnosis of severe or unexplained hair loss.

  • Many medications list “hair loss” among their potential side effects, drugs are also not overall common causes of thinning or lost hair. On the other hand, with cancer treatments and immune suppression medications including chemotherapy, hair loss is a very common side effect. Complete hair loss often occurs after a course of major chemotherapy for cancer. Usually, hair regrows after six to 12 months.

What Is Female Pattern Baldness???

Post Date: April 10th, 2014

san diego hair extensions

30 million women  suffer from what is known as Hereditary hair loss or androgenetic alopecia.  Understanding the hair growth cycle may help us to recognize when we may not have normal hair loss, but have thinning hair or excessive hair loss.  The first phase is growth, also known as anagen.  In this phase, the hair grows at an average rate of one half inch per month from it’s follicle.  The anagen phase usually last two to six years.  Next the resting phase, or telogen, begins. Telogen usually lasts three to four months.  The end of the telogen phase is when the hair falls out and a new hair begins to grow in it’s place.  Typically, 85 percent of your hair is in the growth phase and the remaining 15 percent is in the resting phase.

A healthy scalp usually has around 100,000 hairs, so losing 50 to 100 hairs per day is normal.  However, when the rate of shedding exceeds that of new growth, new growth is thinner than the hair that was shed, or shedding happens in patches.  Any of these situations may indicate androgenetic alopecia.

Flatter Your Face Shape- Square

Post Date: March 26th, 2014

Square faces have a strong shape and nice bone structure! Your browbone, cheekbones and jaw tend to have equal width, so adding softness through cut and color can downplay harsh angles and create a flattering look.

Go for  both highlights and lowlights! Ask your Invisible Hair consultant to keep color deeper at the temples and place highlights at the cheekbones to add softness.

Keep your hair below your jaw or longer. Haircuts that stop at the jawline can make your face appear more squared-off.

Stay away from cuts with strong lines, such as blunt bangs or a bob—they’re just too angular. Instead, go for side-swept bangs, face-framing layers and romantic waves.

Choose scalloped collars, round or scoop necks, and deep V-necks. All of these necklines add softness to square faces.

Earrings with rounded shapes also help to soften angular faces. Try classic hoops or other curved styles.

Let us assist you in cutting and shaping your Human Hair Wig to enhance your natural beauty!

Flatter Your Face Shape – Circle

Post Date: March 3rd, 2014

women in film arrivals 5 130612

Rounder in shape, circular shaped faces have all the right curves! Cut and color can help to elongate the face and make the the most of this great shape.

Try sun-kissed highlights to flatter circular faces: Ask your Invisible Hair consultant to add highlights above your forehead, and a darker shade at the cheeks and jawline.

Avoid chin-length styles, blunt bangs and middle parts—they’re too drastic and can add width. Go for softer styles with asymmetry: Side-swept bangs and a side part work beautifully, and so do chunky layers!

Adding height at the crown helps to create the illusion of length as well.

Choose open necklines to create the illusion of length. What should you avoid? Crew necks, which mimic the natural roundness of the face.

Earrings that are longer and leaner, such as thin chandelier styles, help to elongate the face.

Your Human Hair Wig can be colored and cut to beautifully accentuate your natural beauty, let us help you present the the most beautiful you!

Genetic Program is Cause For Hair Loss ???

Post Date: January 17th, 2014

human hair extensions los angeles

Pattern hair loss is not the result of “trapped hair
follicles”, build-up of DHT, scalp oils, or anything else on the scalp,
poor circulation, inadequate oxygen, constant stress, or inadequate nutrition.
Pattern hair loss is simply the result of genetic programming of hair follicle
cells and the exposure of the cells to hormones in the blood over a long period
of time.
